The Office of the Auditor General, located in Fredericton, is an independent office that serves the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly. The Auditor General assists the Legislative Assembly in holding the government accountable by reporting on the government's performance and stewardship of public funds and resources. The findings of our audits are issued in the Auditor General's annual report to the Legislative Assembly.
We are seeking a university graduate looking to pursue a professional accounting designation, while gaining invaluable experience within government.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Financial Audit, the successful candidate will form part of a dynamic team, contributing to the completion of various financial and IT audits. Ongoing training, growth opportunities and financial support will support your success in the CPA program.
In addition to your salary, our office covers registration, professional membership fees, tuition, books, exam and travel costs related to the CPA program.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must:
possess a university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, and be eligible to pursue the CPA designation (including having successfully completed the prerequisite courses for the CPA program)
demonstrate research, analytical and communication skills
be enrolled or willing to enroll in the CPA program
Written and spoken competence in English required. Please state your language capabilities.
Additional qualifications that are not requirements of this position, but would be considered assets are:
experience in auditing/accounting roles
previous experience in the public sector
oral and written proficiency in French
Wage: Pay Band 4: $59,046 - $82,576 (annually)
The successful candidate will be team oriented and able to demonstrate initiative and a passion for excellence.
